J.N "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge is home to countless birds, dolphins, manatees and alligators and is not to be missed! Take a fun and educational guided nature tour, rent a kayak or canoe, or go on a private fishing charter or sea life cruise.
Love dolphins? Then board one of the many narrated dolphin cruises that ply the waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Pine Island Sound. Or borrow our kayak and if you are in luck, you can paddle alongside them right in front of our beach!
For one of the best island tours, hop on one of our complimentary bicycles or rent a surrey, scooter or Segway! Sanibel has over 25 miles of paved bike paths so it's easy to get just about anywhere on the island. And with many restaurants, shops and points of interest within a mile of our door, cycling is the way to go!
Our townhouse at Cyprina Beach is situated on one of the world's most renowned shelling beaches so chances are you won't go home without some souvenirs from the sea. In fact, so many beachgoers bend down to retrieve shells that there's actually a name for it -- the Sanibel stoop! To learn about the shells you find and so much more, visit the Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum.
Hook a redfish, giant tarpon, snook, Spanish mackerel or grouper off of Sanibel's famous fishing pier, which is just a mile from our townhouse. Or set off with a professionally licensed saltwater fishing guide. The nearby marina offers a wide variety of customized trips, boat and nature tours, shelling charters, snorkeling, back bay fishing excursions and lunch cruises.
And that’s not all! Sanibel Island is home to many fine shops, galleries, restaurants, health and fitness facilities, parks, theaters and historical landmarks.
